The Expertise Behind RightMove Health Physical Therapists
When you meet with a physical therapist at RightMove Health, you are working with a provider who has dedicated years to musculoskeletal (MSK) care, not just general physical therapy. From doctoral education to national board certification and advanced training with Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), our PTs are exceptionally qualified to get you on the right path from day one.
Doctoral Education in MSK Care
Every RightMove Health clinician holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree, the highest clinical degree for physical therapists in the U.S. This rigorous education includes:
Three years of doctoral study after an undergraduate degree, bringing most PTs to about seven years of higher education in total
Deep training in anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, neuroscience, and pathology with a strong focus on musculoskeletal systems
Advanced training in diagnostic reasoning and clinical decision-making
Clinical rotations in hospitals, outpatient orthopedic practices, and specialty settings where they work directly with patients
By graduation, DPTs have experience evaluating and treating a broad array of MSK conditions, combining classroom knowledge with real-world patient care.
PTs Specialize in MSK, Others Often Do Not
While many healthcare providers have general training, physical therapists specialize in musculoskeletal care. Primary care doctors or general rehab providers often see a wide range of conditions, but PTs focus almost exclusively on movement, pain, injury, and function. At RightMove, every PT you see is not only an expert in addressing body-based problems, but is also trained to recognize when imaging or specialist referral is necessary.
Experienced Clinicians
At RightMove Health, we take expertise further. We only hire PTs who already have years of post-graduate experience in MSK care. The clinicians you meet with are not new graduates. They are seasoned providers who have sharpened their skills in real-world practice before joining our team.
Board Certification in Orthopedics
Every RightMove Health PT holds Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) certification, awarded by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. To earn this credential, PTs must:
Complete at least 2,000 hours of direct orthopedic patient care
Pass a rigorous national board examination
Demonstrate advanced mastery in musculoskeletal evaluation and treatment
Only a small percentage of PTs nationwide earn this distinction. A 100 percent OCS-certified team highlights our commitment to the highest standard of orthopedic PT care.
Advanced Training with HSS
Beyond their base credentials and experience, every PT at RightMove completes specialized onboarding developed with HSS, the top-ranked hospital in orthopedics in the country:
Advanced Orthopedic Triage Certification (AOTC): Created exclusively for RightMove Health, this program teaches PTs to evaluate more than 90 MSK conditions, determine when imaging or referral is needed, and guide patients to the optimal care path. PTs must pass both a written and a practical exam.
Essentials of Telehealth Course: In collaboration with HSS and Evidence in Motion, this course equips PTs to deliver high-quality, patient-focused care virtually. It teaches how to assess movement, pain, and function over video.
HSS Orthopedic Core Curriculum: On-demand education delivered by HSS faculty that reinforces best practices, surgical considerations, and rehabilitation principles in orthopedics.
HSS: A Leader in Orthopedics
Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) is ranked No. 1 in the nation for orthopedics, a distinction it has held for multiple consecutive years by U.S. News & World Report. Because we partner with an institution that leads the country in orthopedic care, we are able to bring that same level of rigor, best practices, and innovation into our training and patient care at RightMove.
Why This Matters for You
When you schedule a triage visit with RightMove Health, you are meeting with a true musculoskeletal specialist, not a generalist.
Our PTs combine doctoral-level education, years of clinical experience, orthopedic board certification, and advanced training with HSS
They are skilled in determining when a problem can be resolved through therapy versus when it needs imaging, referral, or additional intervention
From your first visit, you can trust that you are in the hands of clinicians who understand MSK care deeply and act quickly to get you on the right path
Whether your condition responds to guided physical therapy or requires a different type of care, our model ensures that your first step is the right one.
